Centenarian 100

A new formula composed around plant polyphenols: a 900 mg Mediterra Complex of olive leaf, pomegranate and Gynostemma pentaphyllum extracts, gathered with fisetin and resveratrol in a liposomal format.

Three plants, two molecules,
one daily composition.

Olive leaf, pomegranate and Gynostemma pentaphyllum, named alongside fisetin and resveratrol. What follows is a reading of a composition, not a statement of outcomes.

I The announcement

A composition of plant polyphenols

Codeage introduces Centenarian 100, a new addition to its Cellular Longevity pillar: a 900 mg Mediterra Complex of olive leaf, pomegranate and Gynostemma pentaphyllum extracts with 500 mg fisetin and 200 mg resveratrol. Its arrival is an occasion to look closely at the polyphenols at its center.

Polyphenols are a broad family of compounds that occur throughout the plant world: in leaves, in fruit, in bark and root. They are among the most widely examined compounds in the botanical literature, and they are the material this formula is built from: three standardized plant extracts, and two named molecules.

What follows is a reading of that composition: each ingredient by what it is, the form it takes, and the plant it comes from. It is a curation, not a claim. The word centenarian in the name refers to the population that longevity research has long studied; it describes the subject Codeage writes about, and nothing about what any formula does.

The material

Named by the plant
it comes from

Every ingredient in this formula is identified by its plant of origin and by the marker compound its extract is standardized to.

The formula, in six parts

Read plainly

The complex, its three extracts, and the two molecules named beside it, each described by what it is.

I

900 mg

Mediterra Complex

A proprietary blend of three standardized plant extracts, stated as a single total.

II

Standardized to 25% oleuropein

Olive Leaf Extract

An extract of the olive leaf, standardized to oleuropein, the compound by which olive leaf material is characterized.

III

Standardized to 40% ellagitannins

Pomegranate Fruit Extract

An extract of pomegranate fruit, standardized to ellagitannins, a group of polyphenols the fruit is known for carrying.

IV

Standardized to 80% gypenosides

Gynostemma pentaphyllum

An extract of the herb, standardized to gypenosides, the saponin compounds by which the plant is characterized.

V

500 mg

Fisetin Extract

Fisetin is a flavonoid that occurs in a number of plants. It is provided here from Rhus succedanea L.

VI

200 mg

Resveratrol

Resveratrol is a stilbene compound found across several plants. It is provided here from Japanese knotweed extract.

III Why these sit together

A formula of this kind could have been a single extract. Centenarian 100 is composed differently, as a set of plant polyphenols drawn from different parts of the plant world.

The Mediterra Complex gathers three of them: olive leaf, an evergreen tree of the Mediterranean basin; pomegranate, a fruit cultivated across the same latitudes and well beyond them; and Gynostemma pentaphyllum, a climbing herb of East Asia. The blend is stated as a 900 mg total, in keeping with how proprietary blends are declared.

Beside the complex sit two molecules named in their own right: fisetin, a flavonoid, at 500 mg, and resveratrol, a stilbene, at 200 mg.

These compounds have each been examined across the botanical and biochemical literature. That work was conducted independently and did not involve any specific Codeage product. What the formula offers is a composition, not a set of outcomes.

The precision

A percentage is an identity

Standardization states which compound an extract is measured against. That is the difference between naming a plant and naming exactly what was taken from it.

IV The forms named exactly

An ingredient is not only its name; it is the form that name takes. Centenarian 100 states each one precisely.

The olive leaf extract is standardized to 25% oleuropein. The pomegranate fruit extract is standardized to 40% ellagitannins. The Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract is standardized to 80% gypenosides, and is declared as herb. Fisetin is named as an extract from Rhus succedanea L.; resveratrol is named from Japanese knotweed extract.

A standardization figure is a statement of identity, not of effect. It says which compound the extract has been measured against, and to what proportion.

The formula is delivered in a methylcellulose capsule and uses Codeage Helix Liposomal Delivery, a liposomal format providing phospholipids from sunflower lecithin, including phosphatidylcholine.

V How the formula is built

A daily serving provides the 900 mg Mediterra Complex of olive leaf, pomegranate and Gynostemma pentaphyllum extracts, with 500 mg fisetin extract and 200 mg resveratrol. One bottle provides 30 servings.

The formula is delivered in a methylcellulose capsule, with Codeage Helix Liposomal Delivery providing phospholipids from sunflower lecithin, including phosphatidylcholine. Microcrystalline cellulose, ascorbyl palmitate and silicon dioxide complete the formula.

This is the dimension the Longevity Code describes as Cellular Longevity, the register concerned with the body at the level of the cell, across time. Codeage formulates within that framework, and states each ingredient in the form it takes.

In the literature

A much-examined family of compounds

The plant polyphenols named in this formula, among them oleuropein, ellagitannins, gypenosides, fisetin and resveratrol, have each been examined widely across the botanical and biochemical literature.

VI

In closing

Centenarian 100, and the long view

Centenarian 100 contains three standardized plant extracts gathered as one complex; two molecules named in their own right, at stated amounts; a liposomal format; a methylcellulose capsule.

The centenarian is the subject Codeage has written about at length: a population studied for a century of records, and the reason this library exists. Naming a formula after that subject is a statement of what Codeage studies, and of the register it writes in: description, plainly, and nothing beyond it.

Two companion readings go further. One follows the leaf, the fruit, and the vine of the Mediterra Complex, by the part of the plant each extract comes from. The other reads the long view the name itself carries.

That is the frame the Longevity Code sets out: four pillars, each mapped to a dimension of how the body sustains itself across time.
