California law requires Codeage LLC ("Codeage," "we," "us," or "our") to disclose certain information regarding our privacy practices to California residents. This California Privacy Notice supplements the Codeage Privacy Policy, which describes our overall privacy practices. California residents should read this California Privacy Notice in addition to the main Privacy Policy.
This California Privacy Notice applies to Personal Information that Codeage processes through https://www.codeage.com, our blog at https://blog.codeage.com, and all other URLs on the codeage.com domain (collectively, the "Site"), as well as through our forums, social media accounts, and other online or offline offerings.
This California Privacy Notice does not apply to Personal Information we collect about our employees, applicants for employment, or contractors in the employment context.
SCOPE AND DEFINITIONS
For purposes of this California Privacy Notice, "Personal Information" has the meaning given to it under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, "CCPA"), and includes information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household.
"Sensitive Personal Information" has the meaning given to it under the CCPA and includes Personal Information that reveals certain categories of information described below.
CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
In the twelve (12) months preceding the Effective Date of this California Privacy Notice, we have collected the following categories of Personal Information about California residents.

We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under 16 years of age, and we do not sell or share Personal Information of individuals under 16 years of age.
SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may collect the following categories of Sensitive Personal Information about California residents:
- Account log-in credentials in combination with a password or other access credential allowing access to your account;
- Payment card information (processed by our payment service providers and not retained by Codeage in a form that would allow access without additional credentials).
We do not collect Sensitive Personal Information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about California residents. We use Sensitive Personal Information only for the limited purposes permitted by the CCPA, including to perform the Services requested, prevent and detect fraud, ensure the security and integrity of our systems, and comply with our legal obligations. California residents have the right to limit our use and disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information, as described below.
SOURCES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect Personal Information from the following categories of sources:
- Directly from you — for example, when you place an order, create an account, contact customer service, submit a review, participate in our rewards program, or submit a wholesale or distribution inquiry.
- Automatically — for example, through cookies, pixels, log files, and similar technologies when you interact with the Site or our marketing communications.
- From our service providers and partners — for example, payment processors, analytics providers, advertising platforms, customer support tools, and review platforms.
- From publicly available sources — for example, social media, where you have made information public.
PURPOSES FOR COLLECTING AND USING PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect and use Personal Information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy, including:
- To process, fulfill, and ship orders, and to manage returns, refunds, and customer service;
- To manage your account, including authentication and security;
- To communicate with you about your orders, account, inquiries, and customer support requests;
- To provide and manage the Codeage rewards program and any active subscriptions;
- To send marketing communications consistent with your preferences and applicable law;
- To personalize your experience on the Site;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security incidents, and other harmful or unlawful activity;
- To improve our Site, Products, Services, and customer experience;
- To measure the performance of our marketing and advertising;
- To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal process;
- To enforce our Terms & Conditions and protect our rights, property, and the safety of others.
DISCLOSURE AND "SHARING" OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Disclosure for Business Purposes. In the twelve (12) months preceding the Effective Date, we have disclosed each of the categories of Personal Information identified above to the following categories of recipients for business purposes:
- Service providers (including e-commerce platform and checkout, payment processing, order fulfillment and shipping, analytics, advertising and marketing, customer support and live chat, review collection and display, loyalty program administration, subscription management, email and SMS messaging, and infrastructure and hosting);
- Advertising and analytics partners;
- Affiliates and corporate affiliates;
- Government authorities and law enforcement, where required by law or to protect our rights;
- Acquirers, investors, or successors in connection with a corporate transaction.
"Sharing" for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising. Under the CCPA, certain advertising and analytics activities may be considered "sharing" of Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising. In the twelve (12) months preceding the Effective Date, we have "shared" the following categories of Personal Information with advertising and analytics partners for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes:
- Identifiers (including online identifiers and IP address);
- Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information;
- Commercial Information (limited to information about Products viewed or considered);
- Inferences.
California residents have the right to opt out of this "sharing" by clicking the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our Site footer.
"Sale" of Personal Information. We do not sell Personal Information in exchange for monetary consideration. Certain disclosures to advertising partners may be considered a "sale" under the CCPA's broader definition. California residents have the right to opt out of any such "sale" through the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our Site footer.
YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA, subject to certain exceptions:
Right to Know. You have the right to request that we disclose to you the categories of Personal Information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected the Personal Information, the business or commercial purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing the Personal Information, the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed, sold, or shared the Personal Information, and the specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you.
Right to Correct. You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information that we maintain about you.
Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete Personal Information we have collected from you, subject to retention obligations and exceptions permitted under applicable law.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your Personal Information. You can exercise this right by clicking the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our Site footer, or by submitting a request as described below.
Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information. You have the right to direct us to limit our use and disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information to that which is necessary to perform the Services requested or as otherwise permitted by the CCPA.
Right to Data Portability. You have the right to receive a copy of your Personal Information in a portable, readily usable format, where technically feasible.
Right to Non-Discrimination. You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your CCPA rights. We will not deny you Products or Services, charge you different prices, or provide you a different level or quality of Products or Services because you exercised your rights, except as permitted by law in connection with our rewards program (which is offered as a financial incentive under the CCPA, as further described in our Privacy Policy).
HOW TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS
To exercise any of the rights described above, you may:
- Visit our California Privacy Notice page or our US States Privacy Compliance page and submit a request through the request forms provided;
- Click the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our Site footer to opt out of "sale" or "sharing";

- Call us at 1-800-870-4800 (US toll-free), seven days a week — Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time; Friday–Sunday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. The authorized agent must provide proof of your written authorization, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us before fulfilling the request.
Verification. Before fulfilling a Right to Know, Right to Correct, Right to Delete, or Right to Data Portability request, we are required to verify your identity. We will ask you to provide information sufficient to verify that you are the person about whom we collected Personal Information. The information we request may depend on the nature and sensitivity of your request.
Response Timing. We will respond to verifiable requests within forty-five (45) days, with the possibility of one (1) extension of an additional forty-five (45) days where reasonably necessary, with notice to you.
RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We retain Personal Information for the periods described in the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy. Actual retention periods may vary based on operational, legal, security, fraud prevention, or compliance requirements.
SHINE THE LIGHT
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine the Light" law, permits California residents who have an established business relationship with us to request, once per calendar year, information about the categories of Personal Information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year, and the names and addresses of those third parties. We do not currently disclose Personal Information to third parties for the third parties' own direct marketing purposes without your consent. NOTICE OF FINANCIAL INCENTIVE
Codeage offers a rewards program through which members may receive points, discounts, early access, or other benefits in exchange for participation. The collection of Personal Information in connection with the rewards program may be considered a "financial incentive" under the CCPA. The material terms of the rewards program are described on the Codeage Rewards Program page. The value of the rewards program to Codeage is reasonably related to the value of the Personal Information collected, taking into account the cost of administering the program and the benefits provided to members. Participation in the rewards program is voluntary; you may decline to participate or withdraw at any time by contacting [email protected].
CHANGES TO THIS CALIFORNIA PRIVACY NOTICE
Codeage reserves the right to update or modify this California Privacy Notice at any time, in our sole discretion. Updates become effective when posted to the Site. Your continued use of the Site or Services after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised California Privacy Notice. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
